Johnston City Fire District responded to 55 calls in 2018 – 12.7 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Johnston City included 40 fires – 24 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 11 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $256,750 in fire loss – or about $6,419 per fire.

The department also received 13 false calls.
