State Representative Dave Severin has announced that applications for free Illinois Harvest Truck permits are now open. The permits allow trucks to exceed legal weight limits by up to 10% during the harvest season.

“Farmers and ag haulers can now apply for a FREE Illinois Harvest Permit that allows trucks to exceed legal weight limits by up to 10% during harvest season,” Severin said. “This is an important reminder for farmers and ag haulers to be in compliance for the harvest season so they can move their products from the fields to the market safely and efficiently.”

The permits are available through the Illinois Department of Transportation’s website at webapps.dot.illinois.gov/ITAP. The site is state-sponsored, and campaign-related content is not allowed due to ethics regulations.

Severin, a Republican, was elected in 2023 as the representative of Illinois’ 116th House District, succeeding David Friess.
