FOIA Request to City Of Herrin Finance Department Regarding Sales Tax Data on October 25, 2024. The request, sent by us at the Carbondale Reporter, seeks comprehensive information about sales tax collected from retailers in the city since the beginning of the year.

The requested data includes detailed breakdowns of sales tax collected from retailers by month compared to projected figures. We also asked for the number of active retail locations paying sales tax each month and a list of these businesses along with their reported gross retail sales for each month.
