CARBONDALE NON-BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEES PERSONNEL BOARD: Be Careful!
0Comments

Carbondale Non-Bargaining Unit Employees Personnel Board recently issued the following announcement.

Fireworks cause thousands of injuries each year. Did you know that even sparklers burn hot enough to cause third-degree burns and account for more than one-quarter of emergency room fireworks injuries?

The Carbondale Fire Department would like you to be aware of the dangers of using consumer fireworks and would like to share these tips from the National Fire Protection Association:

Be safe. If you want to see fireworks, go to a public show put on by experts

Do not use consumer fireworks

Keep a close eye on children at events where fireworks are used

Use glow sticks, they glow in the dark and are a safe alternative to a sparkler

About 1 in 4 fires started by fireworks each year, are reported on Independence Day
