Black and white and Carbondale all over at exhibit
Anyone interested in a look back at life in Carbondale from six decades ago should drop in to the Carbondale Civic Center by May 19.
Carbondale Community Arts is hosting “Carbondale in the 1960s: Historic Photos from Tom Davis,” which provides a unique, black-and-white view of the city back in the day. Davis was a photojournalist at the Southern Illinoisan and photographer for the Carbondale Community Yearbook. He also owned a photography business in the city.
The exhibition, which is free and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, is being presented in The Corridor Gallery at the civic center at 200 S. lllinois Avenue.
