Bradley Public Works and Parks Board updated on sewer, pond projects

Meeting 05

At a recent meeting, the Bradley Public Works and Parks Board was updated on the sewer and pond projects and previewed the proposed Summerville project.

Below is the agenda for this meeting, as provided by the board.

ALL, ITEMIS ON AGENDA ARE FOR DISCUSSION ONLY

Update on MFT Projects – July 5, 2016 the MFT projects will begin. Curbs and sidewalks first then Potomac Street. Crack sealing on streets in Quail Hallow. Superior Striping will be out doing street striping on East Broadway and Christine Drive along with a few other streets.

Looking ahead Blatt area will be the focus for the 2016/2017 street project.

Summerville Project – Bid packets going out the first week of July – expecting to come before the full board for approval by second meeting in July. Work will be expected to begin immediately.

CSL Sewer Project Update — All pipe is almost all installed — expecting to have North

Street and Industrial Drive paved very soon — the total project is expected to be done in about 8 weeks.

All Village Parks – Seasonal employees are doing most of the mowing which is allowing our PW staff to work on park improvements. Some new signage is going up.

Looking ahead Blatt Park playground equipment is focused for the 2016/2017 budget.

All parks will continue to be updated overtime.

50/50 Project – looks like there are about 10 participants this year. We can expect the recommended bid to be brought before the board at the second meeting in July for approval.

*It was discussed that if any additional funds are available we will be focusing on South Forest west side and the north side of East Broadway to Route 50 for side walk improvements.

Village Ponds Update – Supt Bessler is looking into having the lilies removed from the specific pond off Cardinal along with a long term solution for any of the ponds that may have the same issues— He will be coming to the full board will actual costs

Other – FYI — the first week of July the PW department will begin spraying 2 to 3 times per week at dusk for mosquitos as long as the weather conditions are right.
